Collected Objects Dance Concert

Two of my choreographic works, "Modish" - a contemporary piece with five dancers, and "Rocks and Dirt" - a theatrical modern dance I will be performing as a solo, will be premiering in Southern Utah University's upcoming dance concert, Collected Objects on December 3, 4, 5, 6. Both works are the result of years of brainstorming and revising and I am very excited to finally present them on stage! I will also be performing in several of the numbers in the concert as an ensemble dancer. This is going to be an excellent dance concert that you will not want to miss!

About Tiana Chambers

Tiana Chambers graduated with a degree in Dance Education from Southern Utah University in 2015 and went on to work as the Director of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) at the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) from 2016-2018. She is a former member of Shifting Velocity Professional Dance Company and has performed in several dance films. Tiana has trained in dance technique since she was three years old, studying Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Irish, Musical Theater, Hip-hop, and Folk. She began teaching dance at age 15, and is experienced in teaching Creative Dance, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Composition, and Improvisation. While Attending SUU, Tiana experienced many performance, choreographic, and teaching opportunities in her education. She performed in numerous concerts at the University as both an ensemble dancer and as a soloist. Her choreography has also been featured in several concerts throughout her time at the University. She traveled overseas to perform in The Dream of Helen with the Hubei Opera and Dance Drama Theater in Wuhan, China. Tiana worked as an instructing teacher's aide for Ballet Level 1 at Southern Utah University, and as a Dance Integration Specialist at a local elementary school through the Beverley Taylor Sorenson ArtsBridge Program. Tiana is a passionate advocate for art in education and hopes to help her students of all ages and levels develop a love of dance, learning, and connection.
